textile yarn manufacturing

Did you ever consider who sewed your clothes? Take a moment and look closely on your t-shirt or dress! You may notice that they are in a bunch of small threads. These threads are made of yarn, and they also make up fabrics that we wear everyday. Yarn production is the process we make these yarns from cotton or wool.

Yarn is made with something called fibers. Fibers consist of very small strands... almost like miniscule hairs twisted together to form yarns. The process of first carding is had to make a yarn. Fibers are combed and aligned during the carding process. This serves as a way to get the fibers ready so that they are easier to be spun out for yarns.

The Process of Textile Yarn Manufacturing

Once the primary carding process is complete, we move on to spinning. Spinning is the process in which fibers are twisted into yarn or long, fine threads. Those threads are called yarns. The yarn is the thickest of worsted weight and can depend on how many fibre are twisted together. The more fibers you twist together, the thicker the yarn will be. Only a few twists and the yarn is much finer.

1] Wool Yarns: This wool yarn is actually made with the removal of Woollen fibres. Wool yarns are usually nice and warm, so they often get used for sweaters or even socks - to help keep us cozy when the weather is cold. If we were outdoorsy type people, we could also mention that wool keeps you warm even when it is wet!
